Creating sound design for Under Milk Wood at Theatr Clwyd was a deep pleasure. I visited the theatre lots with my parents as a child so working in the space felt like a real dream. Working with the composer Oliver Vibrans, weaving his amazing music through this challenging piece was a joy, letting me focus on the sound world and the overarching sound of the play, often something which is hard to achieve when doing sound and music.
The team were incredible, creating a complex dense text into a vibrant, accessible show for both the audience and cast really bears fruit. The amazing Kate Wasserberg was a fantastic director and trusted us with ambitious ideas.
otherworldly soundscape from Liam Quinn... a layered soundscape of ticking clocks, distant waves, strings and scattered laughter builds an eerie cacophony that settles you right into the heart of Llareggub.
The design, overall, is excellent... Liam Quinn’s soundscape keeps the village of Llareggyb babbling
